We are a group of people totally committed to enabling people with disability to live fulfilling lives and to be valued and respected members of society.

Bespoke Lifestyles is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee with an independent board of directors. 

Our Goal

is to support people with disability together with their advocates to manage their own supports and have control over their own lives.

Our Values

In line with the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Bespoke Lifestyles fully recognises the need to promote and protect the human rights of all persons with disabilities. Bespoke Lifestyles believes that people with disabilities and their families should have the freedom to make their own choices and be involved in all decision-making processes for their own lives.

    We value and affirm the inherent dignity and intrinsic worth of each person. We recognise that each person is unique with his or her own gifts, challenges and potential. We also believe that each person has his or her own valuable contribution to make to others.

    We believe in the power of dreams and “imagining better” to see possibilities and potential in all situations. Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible and achieves the impossible.

  • Empowerment

    We give people with disability and their families the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills they need to fully embrace a lifestyle of their choice and the opportunity to be actively involved in all decision-making.

    We aim to foster the wellbeing of people with disabilities by supporting and walking beside them and their families in a spirit of hope and optimism to empower them to fulfil their vision.

    We esteem people and their essential wisdom and aim to strip away pretence and bureaucracy. Instead, we seek the essence of all things to create an openness and directness in all our dealings.

    We work within a strong ethical code that values the right of each person with disability to live a full, rich and valued life. Honesty and trustworthiness is integral to all of our relationships.

    We believe that ongoing resilience and consistent determination are essential for people to pursue their dreams and goals notwithstanding opposition and contradictions.

    We believe that people with disability have the right to full and effective participation and inclusion in society. We believe that people thrive in communities where people support, care and challenge one another within a culture of mutuality and cooperation.

    We believe that being in reciprocal relationships is essential to every person’s sense of worth and identity. Ongoing and valued relationships in a person’s life are crucial to their wellbeing and need to be fostered and nurtured.

    The value of justice is at the centre of our belief that every person has the right to direct their own life and to fully realise their potential. We strive to rectify whatever is oppressive to human dignity.

Our Principles

    Every person with disability and their advocates can have a positive vision to live a full and ordinary life. Each person’s vision for their own life is unique and is created from cultural background, language, stories, values, expectations and priorities.

  • Good Communication

    Families/individuals need timely, open, honest and clear communication about what matters to them.

  • Flexibility

    Flexibility of service response leads to the right amount of support, in the right manner, at the right time.

  • Planning

    To reach their vision, families/individuals must plan for now, tomorrow and the future. They can be supported to do this by their friends, natural networks and Bespoke Lifestyles.

  • Right Relationship

    When families/individuals and Bespoke Lifestyles embrace their authority and the task of building a good life for people with a disability, they will work in right relationship based on trust and respect.

Our relationship with our participants is based on trust and respect and a mutual desire for people with disability to have the best lives possible. We work as consultants to empower people to take control of their own lives.
